Job Description
Client Corporation, a Fortune 500 company, seeks an energetic technologist with back-end and front-end development proficiency in one or more of the following languages/specialties: Java, ExtJS, Ionic, Angular and SQL. The ideal applicant for the open position is highly motivated in agile software development and works well as part of a diverse development team.

In this position, the applicant will help with the development and maintenance of Intermodal Terminal Operating System applications along with associated Backend, Frontend, and Mobile apps. Additionally, as a contractor in the Information Technology Department, the successful candidate will translate user requirements into the overall architecture and implement new capabilities alongside the right monitoring and systems management supporting Client Corporation s Intermodal initiative.

Daily work may additionally involve interactions with software vendors and integration partners.
Education
4-yr College Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
Qualifications & Experience
8+ years of development experience in one or more of the following: Java, ExtJS, Ionic, Angular and SQL.
Familiar with Github as well as change and configuration management best practices
In-depth knowledge of relational databases (especially DB2), SQL Server, or other relational database, and SQL development.
Understanding of Agile development and use of JIRA for issue and project tracking
knowledge of the principle of basic prototype design and UI/UX design
Ability to work on multiple active projects at one time
Ability to write quality unit tests
Solid grasp of service oriented architecture in web and backend application development frameworks
Understanding of automated processes for building testing, documenting, and deploying software at scale
Deep knowledge of frameworks and tools used in Java full stack development like Core Java, servlets, APIs, database, web architecture, etc.
Fluent experience in UNIX or Linux
Strong written and verbal skills
Strong interpersonal skills as well as strong teamwork and customer support focus
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Additional Skills
CI/CD pipeline (Jenkins, Github, SonarQube)
Docker Containers
Experience with SQL development
Experience with IBM MQ
Experience with Automated Testing Tools such as Tosca
Work Conditions
